Albert Heinrich Leopold Freiherr von Dörnberg (born October 15, 1824 in Schleusingen ; † October 16, 1915 in Königsberg ) was a Prussian civil servant and member of parliament.

Albert was the son of Oberforstmeister Karl von Dörnberg (1796–1873) and his wife Emma, ​​née von Rohr (1802–1877). His brothers Hermann and Ferdinand embarked on a military career in the Prussian Army and made it to lieutenant general . In 1862 he himself married Emilie Poensgen (1836–1902), a sister of the Düsseldorf industrialist Carl Poensgen , daughter of the smelter Carl Poensgen, senior. (1802–1848) from Schleiden . He had eight children, including the administrative lawyer Karl von Dörnberg .

Life

Dörnberg attended grammar schools in Siegen and Potsdam and the Laurentianum grammar school in Arnsberg . There he also passed his Abitur. He then studied law in Heidelberg and Berlin. He was a member of the "Lumpia" fraternity , then in 1845 of the "Rupertia Heidelberg" fraternity. From 1846, Dörnberg did the usual preparatory service for the Prussian court and civil service. From 1853 he was a government assessor in Arnsberg . Between 1855 and 1876 Dörnberg was district administrator for the district of Siegen . He was also chairman of the agricultural district association Siegen. He also worked briefly in the Prussian Ministry of Commerce. From 1876 he was a senior government councilor and responsible for church and school matters in the government in Opole . He was also a lecturing councilor in the rank of a secret government councilor in the Prussian Ministry of the Interior. From 1886 Dörnberg was President of the Consistory of the Evangelical Church for the Province of East Prussia . He retired in 1904.

In addition to his professional activity, Dörnberg was also politically active. He was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives . Between 1867 and 1870 he was a member of the Reichstag of the North German Confederation . From 1871 to 1874 he was a member of the German Reichstag , where he belonged to the faction of the Free Conservative Party and represented the constituency of the administrative district of Arnsberg 1 ( Wittgenstein - Siegen - Biedenkopf .
