Alexander Dwight "Alex" Foster (born August 26, 1984 in Royal Oak , Michigan ) is a former American ice hockey player who has played for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the National Hockey League , most of his career Career, however, spent in the American Hockey League . Foster's father Dwight and his uncle-in-law Wes Jarvis were like him in the National Hockey League. His brother-in-law, Corey Elkins, is also a professional ice hockey player.

Career

Alex Foster was born in Royal Oak , Michigan , while his father Dwight was under contract with the Detroit Red Wings . He began his career as a hockey player with the Sioux City Stampede , for which he was active in the 2001/02 season in the United States Hockey League . After he had started the 2002/03 season at Sioux City, he moved to the Danville Wings in the North American Hockey League , for which he also played in the USHL in the 2003/04 season after their league change. From 2004 to 2006, the attacker played for the team at Bowling Green State University , before receiving a free agent contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs on March 8, 2006 , for their farm team from the American Hockey League , the Toronto Marlies , the US -Americans first appeared on the ice in professional ice hockey towards the end of the 2005/06 season .

After Foster was accrued in the 2006/07 season for the Marlies in the AHL and the Columbia Inferno in the ECHL , he made his debut in the National Hockey League the following year . He remained pointless and punished in three games for the Toronto Maple Leafs. He spent the 2008/09 season exclusively with the Marlies in the AHL. Also in the two following seasons Foster was in action with the Toronto Marlies and initially held the office of assistant captain in the 2009/10 season before the attacker was on the ice as the Marlies team captain during the 2010/11 season . In June 2011 the American received a contract with HC Sparta Prague from the Czech extra league . In January 2013 he signed a contract with Adler Mannheim that expired in the summer.

Between 2013 and 2015 Foster played for the Iserlohn Roosters .

In the 2015/16 season he was under contract with HC Bozen in the Erste Bank Ice Hockey League . After he had spent the following season with the Belfast Giants in the Elite Ice Hockey League , the attacker let his active career end at the Rapid City Rush and Brampton Beast in the ECHL.
