Alex Kuprecht

Alex Kuprecht (born December 22, 1957 in Richterswil , resident in Oeschgen ) is a Swiss politician ( SVP ), member of the Council of States and lobbyist .

Alex Kuprecht was elected to the Cantonal Council of Canton Schwyz in 1990, of which he was a member until 2003. From 1997 to 2001 he was head of the SVP parliamentary group. In 2002/03 he was President of the Cantonal Council. In the 2003 elections , he was elected to the Council of States as a representative of the Canton of Schwyz. He was confirmed in the 2007 , 2011 , 2015 and 2019 elections.

In January 2012, Kuprecht would have been elected to the vice presidency of the SVP parliamentary group of the Federal Assembly, but then withdrew in frustration after a massive dispute broke out on the part of some influential Zurich party colleagues who would rather see Natalie Rickli in the vice presidency.

Kuprecht is a federal dipl. Insurance specialist, but now employed as a "Relation Manager" and lobbyist at Basler Insurance. He describes himself as the «mouthpiece of the insurance industry».

He is married and has two sons.
