Alexander Gorgon (born October 28, 1988 in Vienna ) is an Austrian football player with Polish roots.
Career
society
Alexander Gorgon began his career with Austria at the age of five and went through all of the Veilchen's youth teams, which also included the former Frank Stronach Football Academy. In the summer of 2006 Gorgon was included in the squad of the FK Austria Wien Amateurs , for whom he made his debut in the first division on November 17, 2006 against LASK Linz under coach Thomas Janeschitz . A protracted injury put Gorgon out of action between January 2008 and January 2010, but this was followed by a successful comeback in the 2010 spring season.
Gorgon has been part of the Austria Wien team since summer 2010. Gorgon made his debut in the Austrian Bundesliga on October 2, 2010 in the home game against Sturm Graz. In 2013, Gorgon was a regular with the Austria champions. In the same year he missed the UEFA Champions League due to a serious shin injury that put him out of action for 6 months. In 2014, Gorgon scored the fastest goal of the Vienna Derby against Rapid after 17 seconds , final score 2: 2.
In August 2016, Gorgon moved to Croatia to join HNK Rijeka . In four years in Croatia he came to exactly 100 appearances for Rijeka in the 1st HNL , in which he scored 33 goals. For the 2020/21 season he moved to Poland to Pogoń Stettin , where he received a contract that ran until June 2023.
National team
After joining the Austria amateur squad in 2007, team boss Paul Gludovatz noticed him and was appointed to the U-20 national squad. In the 1-0 win against Germany on September 5, 2007, he was on the field for 34 minutes. This was Gorgons so far only use in a selection team. He is also not averse to running for Poland once .

His father Wojciech Gorgoń was active as a football player at Wisła Kraków and as a referee in Austria. Alexander Gorgon is married and has two children.
