Alexander Michailowitsch Tschernikow ( Russian Александр Михайлович Черников ; born September 4, 1984 in Tolyatti , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk in the Continental Hockey League since May 2019 .
Career
Alexander Tschernikow began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of the HK Lada Tolyatti , for whose second team he was active in the third-rate Pervaya League from 2002 to 2004 . At the same time, he came from the 2002/03 season for the ZSK WWS Samara in the Wysschaja Liga , the second Russian division, to use, in which he stayed until 2005 after leaving HK Lada. For the 2005/06 season, the attacker moved within the second Russian division to HK tractor Chelyabinsk , with whom he rose straight away as the second division champion in the super league. After a year at HK Tractor in the Super League, the Russian returned to the HK Lada Tolyatti, for whom he was on the ice from 2007 to 2010, initially in the Super League and from the 2008/09 season in the newly founded Continental Hockey League .
In 2010 the HK Lada was excluded from the KHL. Chernikov then left his hometown club and signed a contract with HK Sibir Novosibirsk , for which he played until the 2011/12 season and completed over 100 KHL games.
In May 2012 he received a contract with Lokomotive Yaroslavl and completed 123 KHL games for the club by 2014. He then returned to his hometown club in August 2014.
In May 2015 he moved to HK Avangard Omsk together with Yuri Anatoljewitsch Petrow .
Between 2016 and 2018, Chernikov was again under contract with HK Traktor Chelyabinsk and completed 115 KHL games for this, in which he collected 28 scorer points. He was then signed by Admiral Vladivostok in July 2018 .
