Velotte-et-Tatignécourt is a French commune in the department of Vosges in the region of Grand Est (2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the Arrondissement Épinal and the municipal association Mirecourt Dompaire .

geography

The municipality of Velotte-et-Tatignécourt with 158 inhabitants (January 1, 2017) is located at the confluence of the Gitte in the Moselle tributary Madon , five kilometers southeast of the small town of Mirecourt and 25 kilometers northwest of Épinal . The Gitte separates the two parts of the municipality Velotte and Tatignécourt .

104 of the 536 hectares of the community area are forested.

Neighboring municipalities of Velotte-et-Tatignécourt are Vroville in the north, Ahéville in the northeast, Racécourt in the east, Dompaire in the southeast, Maroncourt and Valleroy-aux-Saules in the southwest, Hymont in the west and Mattaincourt in the northwest.

history

While Velotte was under the influence of the Lorraine dukes during the Ancien Régime , Tatignécourt belonged to the realm of the Remiremont chapter .

On July 26, 1796 (8th Thermidor IV of the French Revolutionary Calendar ), the municipality of Velotte-et-Tatignécourt emerged from the villages of Velotte and Tatignécourt .

The church was built in 1845, the mayor and school building in 1833.

Economy and Infrastructure

There are three farms in the municipality of Velotte-et-Tatignécourt (dairy, sheep and goat farming).

The D 266 trunk road leads through Velotte-et-Tatignécourt from Dompaire to Mirecourt , and a little further west the parallel D 166 from Épinal via Mirecourt to Neufchâteau . The train station in the neighboring municipality of Hymont is on the railway line from Nancy via Mirecourt and Vittel to Merrey .
