Xaffévillers (1800 still with the spelling Xaffeviller ) is a French commune with 153 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Vosges department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the Arrondissement Épinal and the Région de Rambervillers municipal association founded in 2006 .

The municipality of Xaffévillers is located in the Belvitte valley , a tributary of the Mortagne , on the edge of the Vosges . In the northwest, the municipality borders on the Meurthe-et-Moselle department . The small town of Rambervillers is eight kilometers south, the town of Lunéville 25 kilometers northwest of Xaffévillers.

Neighboring municipalities of Xaffévillers are Domptail in the north, Ménarmont in the northeast, Doncières in the southeast, Roville-aux-Chênes in the south, Saint-Maurice-sur-Mortagne in the southwest, Deinvillers in the west and Magnières and Saint-Pierremont in the northwest.

Economy and Infrastructure

There are three farms in the municipality (including poultry farming).

The D 914 trunk road leads from Lunéville to Rambervillers through the west of the municipality of Xaffévillers . In the nearby town of Baccarat there is a connection to the motorway-like RN 59 from Lunéville to Saint-Dié-des-Vosges . Baccarat station, 14 kilometers from Xaffévillers, is on the Lunéville – Saint-Dié line .

Others

In August 2009, simultaneous plowing took place in the south of the municipality on the site of a former airfield. A French record was set with 793 tractors.
