Hagécourt is a French commune with 120 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Vosges department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the Arrondissement Épinal and the municipal association Mirecourt Dompaire, founded in 2017 .
geography
The municipality of Hagécourt is about halfway between Épinal and Vittel in southern Lorraine. The small town of Mirecourt is 13 kilometers from Hagécourt.
The community is located on the right bank of the Moselle tributary Madon . The Ruissaeu de la Grâce and L'Imbarupt Ruisseau flow into the Madon at Hagécourt . To the west and east of the Madon Valley, the terrain gradually rises and reaches heights of over 330 meters. In the east and south-west, the municipality has shares of around 220 hectares in two larger forest areas ( Bois Brûlé, Le Métel, Bois du Rayeux and Bois Banal ). Most of the community area consists of agricultural land that extends to the banks of the Madon. The built-up area is closed and limited to a north-south axis of settlement.
Neighboring municipalities of Hagécourt are Maroncourt in the north, Dompaire in the east, Begnécourt in the south, Bainville-aux-Saules and Rancourt in the south-west and Valleroy-aux-Saules in the west.
history
In the 10th century, the place name Hagericurte appears for the first time in a document . In the Middle Ages, the area of today's municipality belonged to the Duchy of Lorraine and at the same time to the Remiremont chapter . Together with the villages of Velotte . Madecourt . Valleroy . Maroncourt and Mazirot , the residents of Hagécourt had to pay 18 small guilders to the duke every year . From the 15th century, Hagécourt was part of the Bailliage Dompaire and Remoncourt . Other landlords who drew income from the lands in and around Hagécourt were Louis Marquis du Pont , the Bailiwick of the Vosges, Jean Porcellets von Maillame in the 16th century, the Bernier, Voillot and Livron families in the 17th century and the Baillivry and families Pilliers . On the eve of the French Revolution, Hagécourt was part of the Darney Bailiwick . Ecclesiastically, Hagécourt belonged to the parish of Valleroy-aux-Saules until its own church was built in 1818 . The new parish church of Saint-Hilaire was located in the deanery Jorxey of the diocese of Saint-Dié . The town hall ( Mairie ) with the boys 'school was built in 1883, the building of the former girls' school was built in 1846.

Economy and Infrastructure
There are two farms in Hagécourt (dairy and cattle breeding).
The main road D 4 runs through the municipality from Mirecourt to Bains-les-Bains . Four kilometers south of Hagécourt, the partly two-lane expressway D 166 runs from Épinal to Vittel / Contrexéville . The Hymont - Mattaincourt stop, five kilometers from Hagécourt, is on the railway line from Nancy via Mirecourt and Vittel to Merrey .
