geography
The municipality of Biécourt is located in the Xaintois region , about 40 kilometers northwest of Épinal and 40 kilometers south of Nancy .

The Vraine is a tributary of the Vair in the Maas catchment . Apart from the settlement area and small wooded areas in the north and north-west ( Bois de Béhémont, Bois de Velotte ), the municipal area consists of arable and pasture land.
Neighboring municipalities of Biécourt are Saint-Prancher in the north, Totainville in the east, Ménil-en-Xaintois in the southeast, Gironcourt-sur-Vraine in the southwest, Morelmaison in the west and Dommartin-sur-Vraine in the northwest.
history
Early evidence of the existence of the village, then called Beteli Curtem , dates back to 1116 . About Bieicort in 1240 and Byécourt in the 17th century, the place name developed into today's Biécourt .
In the Middle Ages, the area around Biécourt was under the Remiremont chapter . The parish of the village belonged to the deanery Poussay in the diocese of Toul .
