Frenelle-la-Petite is a French commune in the Vosges department in the region of Grand Est (2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the Arrondissement Épinal and the municipal association Mirecourt Dompaire .

The municipality of Frenelle-la-Petite with 45 inhabitants (January 1, 2017) is located in the Xaintois region on the border with the Meurthe-et-Moselle department , nine kilometers northwest of the small town of Mirecourt . The undulating ground relief around Frenelle-la-Petite belongs to the catchment area of the Madon .

history

Frenelle-la-Petite was first mentioned in a document in 1044. The village belonged to the Mirecourt Bailiwick .

The school was built in 1881 and the town hall ( Mairie ) followed a year later .

There are three farms in the municipality (dairy farming).

Frenelle-la-Petite is away from the national transport links. Seven kilometers to the south there is a connection to the D 166 trunk road ( Épinal - Neufchâteau ), which has no intersections . The Nancy - Mirecourt - Merrey railway runs east of the municipality . The nearest train station is in the nearby town of Mirecourt.
