Ahéville (1801 still with the spelling Acheville ) is a French commune in the Vosges department of the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the Arrondissement Épinal and the municipal association Mirecourt Dompaire, founded in 2017 .
geography
The municipality of Ahéville, with 69 inhabitants (January 1, 2017), is located six kilometers east of the small town of Mirecourt and 28 kilometers northwest of Épinal in the hill country between the Moselle and Madon .
The rivers Ruisseau de la Tripe de Lièvre and Ruisseau de Cherpagnotte , which flow over the Robert and the Gitte into the Madon, arise in the municipal area of 5.84 km² . The core town of Ahéville is located in the gentle valley of the Ruisseau des Nauves . The north-east of the municipality is forested ( Gandremont, Bois de Sarrasin ), here is the highest point of Ahéville at 400 m above sea level.
The neighboring municipalities of Ahéville are Avillers in the north, Jorxey in the northeast, Vaubexy in the east, Bazegney in the southeast, Racécourt in the south, Velotte-et-Tatignécourt in the southwest and Vroville in the west and northwest.
history
In 1282 the place was first mentioned as Oheiville . Until 1751 Ahéville belonged to the Bailliage Darney . Ecclesiastically the parish was divided into the parishes Rabiémont and Blaye , both of which were subordinate to the deanery in Jorxey . Deanery Jorxey.

Economy and Infrastructure
Some of the inhabitants live from agriculture, which is represented in Ahéville with three farms (dairy farming, orchards) or is employed in small craft and trading companies. Thanks to the convenient transport links, many residents commute to Vittel , Mirecourt or the industrial areas in the Moselle valley.

The D 10 road from Mirecourt to Nomexy runs through Ahéville . There are other road connections to Vaubexy , Bazegney , Racécourt and Velotte-et-Tatignécourt .
In Nomexy, 16 kilometers east of Ahéville, there is a connection to the motorway-like Route nationale 57 from Nancy to Épinal .
The Hymont - Mattaincourt stop, five kilometers away, is on the railway line from Nancy via Mirecourt and Vittel to Merrey .
