Dompaire is a French commune in the Vosges department of Region Grand Est (2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the Arrondissement Épinal and the municipal association Mirecourt Dompaire, founded in 2017 .

geography

The municipality of Dompaire, with 1148 inhabitants (January 1, 2017), is located in the Gitte valley , a tributary of the Madon , about 20 kilometers west of Épinal and ten kilometers southeast of the small town of Mirecourt .

The settlement area of ​​the neighboring municipality Madonne-et-Lamerey connects seamlessly with the center of Dompaires.

The districts Laviéville and Naglaincourt belong to Dompaire . history

The present parish emerged in 1836 from Lavieville-et-Naglaincourt, which had existed since the end of the 18th century . Until December 31, 2014, Dompaire was the main town (chef-lieu) of the canton of Dompaire .
