Bazegney is a French commune in the department of Vosges of the region Grand Est (2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the Arrondissement Épinal and the municipal association Mirecourt Dompaire, founded in 2017 .

geography

The community of Bazegney with 113 inhabitants (January 1, 2017) is located 20 kilometers northwest of Épinal (as the crow flies), in the valley of the Gitte tributary Robert .

Neighboring communities of Bazegney are Vaubexy in the north, Derbamont in the east, Bouzemont in the south, Racécourt in the west and Ahéville in the northwest.

history

1310, the site was first mentioned as Beseingneis as part of the ban of Bouzemont in a document on. Dominion over Bazegney was shared between the Dukes of Lorraine and the Chapter of Saint-Gengoult in Toul .

The current church was built in 1829, the town hall and school building were built in 1834/1835. There is no longer a school in Bazegney today, but the mayor's office ( Mairie ) is still in the building .

Economy and Infrastructure

There are two farms in the community (grain cultivation, cattle breeding).

The D 28 road from Charmes to Dompaire leads you through the municipality . 15 kilometers to the northeast there is a connection to the motorway-like RN 57 from Nancy to Épinal near Nomexy .
