Vervezelle is a French commune with 132 inhabitants (January 1, 2017) in the Vosges department in the Grand Est region . It belongs to the Arrondissement Épinal and the municipality association Bruyères-Vallons des Vosges, founded in 2014 . With 1.92 km² Vervezelle is one of the five smallest communities in the Vosges department .
geography
The agricultural community of Vervezelle is located in the western foothills of the Vosges , about halfway between Saint-Dié and Épinal .
The center of the small municipal area forms a basin that was created by the streams flowing together here ( Ruisseau de Moxené, Ruisseau de l'Avison ). To the north, the basin opens to the outflow of the streams towards Mortagne . At the edges of the small basin, some striking mountains rise, such as the 444 m high Haut de Belmont in the northeast, the 502 m high Petit Avison in the south and a 517 m high secondary peak of the Ponthaie in the west. The heights around Vervezelle are forested, in and around the settlement there is pasture and arable land.
The Vervezelle settlement consists of hamlets that have grown together over the years; there is no distinct village center. The houses in the hamlets of Béthicourt, Rupt Jacqout and Dessous la Petite Avison are loosely grouped around two streets that are X-shaped to one another. In addition, there are several scattered individual courtyards.
Neighboring municipalities of Vervezelle are Domfaing in the northeast, Belmont-sur-Buttant in the east, Bruyères in the southwest and Brouvelieures in the northwest.

Attractions
The parish church of St. Laurentius ( Saint-Laurent ) was built on the Haut de Belmont for the three parishes of Domfaing , Belmont-sur-Buttant and Vervezelle . Although it is located in the municipality of Domfaing, it is the closest to Vervezelle.
Economy and Infrastructure
There are four farms in the municipality (dairy farming, horse breeding).
Immediately west of Vervezelle is the D 420 trunk road from Épinal to Saint-Dié . The station in Bruyères, two and a half kilometers south, is on the Arches – Saint-Dié railway line .
