Circourt (1793 still with the spelling Crecourt ) is a French commune in the Vosges department of the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the Arrondissement Épinal and the municipal association Mirecourt Dompaire, founded in 2017 .

Location of the municipality of Circourt in the Vosges department

The municipality of Circourt, with 88 inhabitants (January 1, 2017), is 16 kilometers northwest of Épinal . The Robert , an eleven kilometer long tributary of the Gitte, has its source in Circourt . In the municipality, at 465 meters above sea level, is the highest point of the hill country between the Moselle and Madon . The Croix de Virine rises at its summit .

Neighboring communities of Circourt are Derbamont in the north-west and north, Bouxières-aux-Bois in the east, Bocquegney in the south-east, Hennecourt and Damas-et-Bettegney in the south and Madonne-et-Lamerey in the south-west.

Economy and Infrastructure

There are five farms in the municipality (dairy farming, cattle breeding).

Circourt can only be reached via side streets. Six kilometers to the south there is a connection to the two-lane D 166 trunk road from Mirecourt to Épinal . Thaon-les-Vosges station, 17 kilometers east of Essegney, is on the Blainville-Damelevières-Lure railway line .
