The canton of Mirecourt is a French constituency in the arrondissements Épinal and Neufchâteau , in the Département Vosges and in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ); its main town is Mirecourt .

history
The canton was founded in 1790. By 2015, 32 municipalities belonged to the canton of Mirecourt. With the reorganization of the cantons in France, the number of communes rose to 56 in 2015. In addition to the previous 32 communes, 24 of the 25 communes (excluding Rouvres-la-Chétive) of the previous canton of Châtenois were added.

Until the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in March 2015, the canton of Mirecourt included the 32 municipalities of Ambacourt , Baudricourt , Biécourt , Blémerey , Boulaincourt , Chauffecourt , Chef-Haut , Dombasle-en-Xaintois , Domvallier , Frenelle-la-Grande , Frenelle-la -Petite , Hymont , Juvaincourt , Madecourt , Mattaincourt , Mazirot , Ménil-en-Xaintois , Mirecourt (main town), Oëlleville , Poussay , Puzieux , Ramecourt , Remicourt , Repel , Rouvres-en-Xaintois , Saint-Menge , Saint-Prancher , Thiraucourt , Totainville , Valleroy-aux-Saules , Villers and Vroville . Its layout corresponded to an area of 171.77 km 2 . Before 2015 he had the INSEE code 8816.

In the first ballot on March 22, 2015, none of the four candidate pairs achieved an absolute majority. In the runoff election on March 29, 2015, the team Nathalie Babouhot / Guy Sauvage (both UMP) won against Hélène Colin / Patrice Jamis (both PS) and Lydie Mathis / Alain Urguette (both FN ) with a share of the votes of 41.73% (turnout : 60.45%).
