Obrist started in the 2007/2008 season in the Intercontinental Cup and this winter achieved third place overall with two podium places. In the following season she won the overall ranking of the Intercontinental Cup with four wins. At her first Junior World Championship in Laces in 2008 she finished fifth and at the 2009 Junior European Championship in Longiarü , she won the bronze medal behind Evelin Lanthaler and Melanie Batkowski .

After her success in the Intercontinental Cup, Obrist started in the World Cup in the 2009/2010 season . After she was not yet at the start in the first two races of the season in Nowouralsk , she achieved two fifth and two seventh places in the other four races, which brought her to seventh place in the overall World Cup. In January 2010, she achieved fifth place at the 2010 European Championship in St. Sebastian , her first title fight in the general class. Two weeks later she won the silver medal behind Evelin Lanthaler at the Junior World Championships 2010 in Nova Ponente .

As in the previous year, Obrist did not take part in the two World Cup races in Novouralsk, Russia, at the beginning of the 2010/2011 season . In the other four races she was always among the fastest six, with fourth place in Kindberg , achieving her best World Cup result so far. She finished eighth in the overall World Cup. At the 2011 World Championships in Umhausen , Obrist was eighth. A week later, she won the bronze medal at the 2011 European Junior Championships in Laas, just like two years ago. The next year Obrist won the gold medal in the single seater at the Junior World Championship 2012 in Latsch , but she did not take part in the European Championship 2012 . In the World Cup, she competed in two of the six races of the season in the 2011/2012 season, placing sixth in the opening race in Latzfons and the finals in Umhausen, thus finishing 15th in the overall World Cup.
