Alfred Kerr Prize

The Alfred Kerr Prize for literary criticism was donated in 1977 by the Börsenblatt for the German book trade .

The prize commemorates the theater and literary critic and publicist Alfred Kerr (1867–1948) and is endowed with 5000 euros (as of 2020). It is awarded annually by the Börsenblatt für den Deutschen Buchhandel, since 1996 to an individual for their literary work. The award has been made during the Leipzig Book Fair since 2004 .

The jury consists of Katrin Lange, program officer at the Literaturhaus München, the bookseller Michael Lemling, the literary scholar Alexandra Pontzen , the President of the German Academy for Language and Poetry, Klaus Reichert , the publisher Klaus Schöffling and the respective editor-in-chief of the Börsenblatt.
