Alfred Emil Karl Schmidt (born August 10, 1894 in Hanover , † April 24, 1987 in Peine ) was a German politician . He was a member of the Nazi Party faction in Brunswick parliament and belonged to the council of the city of Braunschweig on.

life and work

Schmidt passed his Abitur in Hanover in 1914 and took part in the First World War as a volunteer . He then studied economics in Göttingen and Rostock and completed a banking apprenticeship in Hanover. In 1925 he was hired by the Northwest German Association of Craftsmen as a research assistant. Schmidt became in 1926 the Syndic of the Craftsmen's Union in Braunschweig and in May 1932 also the Syndic of the Chamber of Crafts .

After Schmidt was elected to the Braunschweigische Landtag on September 14, 1930 on the civil unity list , he joined the NSDAP parliamentary group in July 1932, together with Hermann Vahldiek , the chairman of the craftsmen's association. After the end of World War II , Schmidt was interned by the British military government . From 1949 to 1964 he was managing director of the Braunschweig Association of the Hotel and Restaurant Industry. He was the managing director of the Braunschweig Wholesale Association from 1953 to 1964. From 1961 to 1964 he was a member of the CDU council group in Braunschweig.
