Alfred J. Gertler

Alfred Johannes Hubertus Gertler (born June 25, 1950 in Hanover ) is a German journalist and organizer of various events .

Life

Alfred J. Gertler is the second youngest son of Alfred Gertler and brother of Martin Gertler . He graduated from high school Paulinum in Münster in 1968 and then studied German and Catholic theology at the University of Münster (1968–1971), then German and general linguistics at the University of Regensburg (1971–1976) and graduated with a Magister Artium .

From 1965 to 1975 Gertler worked as a freelance journalist for daily newspapers ( Münstersche Zeitung , Westfälische Nachrichten , Mittelbayerische Zeitung ), weekly newspapers ( public ) and in radio ( WDR , SDR , BR , HR , SR , SWF ). From 1975 he was a permanent freelancer in the SDR studio in Heidelberg. From 1977 to 1980 he was news editor for RTL (radio) in Luxembourg and from 1980 to 1990 political correspondent for RTL radio in Bonn. From 1991 to 2001 he worked as a political correspondent for the Flensburger Tageblatt in Bonn and Berlin. From 1990 to 1999 he reported on federal politics from Bonn for the ORB and Radio Bremen . In 2004 he founded Gertler Deutschmann GbR, which was changed to Gertler Deutschmann GmbH & Co. KG in 2005.

Gertler took on several honorary positions: from 1986 to 1989 he was a member of the North Rhine-Westphalia regional board of the German Journalists 'Association (DJV), from 1989 to 1991 a member of the federal board of the German Journalists' Association (DJV) and from 1993 to 2003 a member of the board of the Federal press conference .

From 1997 to 2015 he was responsible for organizing the Federal Press Ball.
