Alliswil is a village in the municipality of Boniswil in the canton of Aargau in Switzerland . The scattered settlement is located on the northwestern shore of Lake Hallwil and on the Seetalbahn .
From the 13th century onwards, it was documented that it belonged to the Hallwyl domain , while the church belonged to the parish of Seengen . As a side income, the Alliswil residents worked from home for the textile industry from the 18th century. Straw weaving was added in the 19th century.
In 1822 the hamlet Schwaderhof was separated from the Alliswil community and assigned to Birrwil . Alliswil was an independent political municipality until 1898. After the merger with Boniswil, the place retained its predominantly agricultural character.
