history

prehistory

The origin of the old Freiberg fraternity Glückauf zu Clausthal is the academic association " Glückauf ", which was founded by eight students at the Freiberg Bergakademie on October 11, 1875. The association was scientifically oriented, general education and served to cultivate friendship between the members. Shortly after it was founded, it was decided to wear a couleur and a club badge. Because of the constant friction with the Freiberg Senior Citizens' Convention , it was decided to be ready for unconditional satisfaction with saber and bell . The new club colors were black, gold and black, and a club crest was created with the slogan “A man without a friend is a poor wretch”, from the third stanza of the federal song It sounds a word .

The time in Freiberg until 1936

On May 24, 1898, the AV "Glückauf" became a fraternity and joined an association of fraternities at technical universities. In 1900, "Glückauf" applied for all technical fraternities to set up a general association in order to end disputes between the fraternities over the maturity principle . In 1910, "Glückauf" took over the chairmanship of the subsequently founded Rüdesheimer DC . In 1905, the fraternity became the first fraternity in Freiberg own fraternity house .

In 1935, the federal government was forcibly transferred to the NSDStB in the course of the Gleichschaltung . Together with other student associations, the Comradeship Theodor Körner was formed under pressure from the National Socialists . Aktivitas met underground until January 1937.

In both world wars there were 20 lucky bidders.

The time in Clausthal from 1951

After the Second World War, thirty Glückaufers living in the western zones of Germany founded the “Alte Glückaufer” association in 1950. In the same year, the student union leather was founded at the Bergakademie Clausthal . With this the Glückaufer merged to form the old Freiberg fraternity . In June 1951, the resulting new federation with an Aktivitas and an old gentleman was included in the umbrella association of the German Burschenschaft (DB), with the usual probationary period being waived .

After joining the working group Initiative Burschenschaftliche Zukunft , which was co-founded by the befriended student fraternity Alemannia Stuttgart , the federal government left the DB in February 2013 because it was no longer in line with the setting of the umbrella association.

The AFB! Glückauf co-founded the Allgemeine Deutsche Burschenschaft on October 3, 2016 .

Color

Today boys wear a ribbon in the federal colors black-gold-red with gold percussion . Füxe wear the boys' band of the former AV "Glückauf", black-gold-black with golden percussion. A crimson red flat cap with red piping and federal colors with golden percussion are worn as the head color . Instead of the usual pekesche , the Glückaufers wear the Clausthaler Bergkittel for Vollwichs .

From 1876 on, members of the “Glückauf” academic association wore white flat caps with a green rim and golden percussion.

In 1889 it was decided to improve the club's advertising power with a new coat of arms and new colors. In this context, the old Freiberg miners' colors black-gold-black were chosen, a new club flag was purchased and a black silk storm with a golden mallet and iron in a laurel wreath was introduced on the lid as a new uniform headgear.

In 1898, the association for the formation of the fraternity got red hats, black-gold-red as a boys 'ribbon and introduced the old boys' ribbons as fuchsia ribbons. For the re-establishment in Clausthal, the members of the Bund Leder were allowed to continue its colors, the Sudeten colors black-red-black. With the entry of the AFB! Lucky for the DB, today's colors were chosen, the colors of the leather bundle still exist today as the underside of the corner .

In the course of the dissolution, under pressure from the NSDAP, the fraternity had to sell the house to the city of Freiberg in 1936.

The house was initially to be christened Ulmenhaus based on the name of the old house and the surrounding flora , but this proposal did not prevail, which is why the house is now simply called the Glückauferhaus .
