history

Until the beginning of the 19th century, Altenreuth was under the sovereignty of the Bamberg Monastery . The dominant village and community rule in the Franconian area for the sovereignty of the state was exercised by his office of Wartenfels , as was the high jurisdiction . When the Bamberg Monastery was secularized in 1802 as a result of the Reichsdeputation Hauptschluss and annexed by the Electorate of Palatinate-Baiern in violation of the Imperial Constitution , Altenreuth became part of the New Bavarian territories that were forcibly taken over during the "Napoleonic land consolidation" .

As a result of the administrative reforms in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , Altenreuth became part of the rural community of Reichenbach with the second municipal edict in 1818 , which also included the hamlet of Schmölz and the now abandoned Teichbühl wasteland . In the course of the municipal territorial reform in Bavaria in the 1970s, Altenreuth was incorporated into the Presseck market at the beginning of 1976 together with the community of Reichenbach, which was expanded in 1972 to include the hamlet of Haid . In 1987 Altenreuth had 49 inhabitants.
