The infantry regiment with the later number No. 12 was a Brandenburg-Prussian regiment on foot that was formed in 1685. It had its locations in the Mark Brandenburg .
evaluation
The regiment belonged to the so-called princely regiments in the 18th century. In particular, Hereditary Prince Ludwig of Hesse-Darmstadt ensured an excellent education. Like other similar regiments, it was noticeably rarely used during the Seven Years' War .
Whereabouts and succession
The regiment was disbanded on November 7, 1806 by surrendering at Ratekau . The III. Battalion capitulated in Szczecin .
Uniform, equipment
Until the middle of the 18th century, the regimental uniform consisted of a blue uniform jacket with red lapels. There were white bows on the red bush lapel and the round open cuffs. The grenadiers' cap was blue-red, gold brass fittings with a black eagle and red-blue tufts. The regimental flag was light green with white rays.
