Amphoe Chom Phra ( Thai : อำเภอ จอมพระ ) is a district ( amphoe - administrative district) in Surin Province . The province of Surin is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

geography

Chom Phra District borders the following districts (from north clockwise) to the Amphoe Tha Tum , Sanom , Sikhoraphum , Khwao Sinarin and Mueang Surin in Surin province, as well as Amphoe Satuek the province of Buriram .

history

Chom Phra was initially set up in 1959 as a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) by separating its area from Amphoe Tha Tum. On July 27, 1965, he was officially promoted to Amphoe.

There are three municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

Krahat (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล กระ หาด ), consisting of the entire Tambon Krahat.
Bu Kraeng (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บุ แก รง ), consisting of the entire tambon Bu Kraeng.
Chom Phra (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล จอมพระ ), consisting of parts of the Tambon Chom Phra.
