Amphoe Lamduan ( Thai : อำเภอ ลำดวน ) is a district ( amphoe - administrative district) in Surin Province . The province of Surin is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

geography

Amphoe Lamduan borders the following districts (clockwise from north): Amphoe Sikhoraphum , Si Narong , Sangkha , Prasat and Mueang Surin . All Amphoe are in Surin Province.

history

The history of the district goes back to the Mueang Suraphi Nathon Nikhom ( สุ รพิ น ทร นิคม ), which was established in 1871. In 1896 the status was changed to "Lamduan District", but this was dissolved a short time later.

On January 3, 1977, it was again initially set up as a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) by separating the two tambon Lamduan and Chok Nuea from the Sangkha district . On July 19, 1991, it was finally upgraded to Amphoe.

There is one municipality with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Lamduan Sunphin (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ลำดวน สุ รพิ น ท์ ), consisting of parts of the Tambon Lamduan.
