Amphoe Si Narong ( Thai : อำเภอ ศรี ณรงค์ ) is a district ( amphoe - administrative district) in Surin Province . The province of Surin is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

Si Narong District borders the following districts are (from south clockwise) to the Amphoe Sangkha , Lamduan and Sikhoraphum in the province of Surin, and to the Amphoe Prang Ku and Khukhan the province of Si Sa Ket .

history

Si Narong was first established on April 1, 1995 as a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) by separating its five tambon from the Amphoe Sangkha .

On May 15, 2007 the Thai government decided to raise all 81 King Amphoe to simple amphoe status in order to unify the administration. With the publication in the Royal Gazette "Issue 124 chapter 46" on August 24, 2007 this decision officially entered into force.
