Amphoe Prang Ku (in Thai อำเภอ ปรางค์กู่ ) is a district ( amphoe - administrative district) in the west of the province of Si Sa Ket . The province of Si Sa Ket is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

Prang Ku District borders the following districts (from north clockwise) to the Amphoe Huai Thap Than , Uthumphon Phisai , Wang Hin and Khukhan in the province of Si Sa Ket, and to the Amphoe Si Narong , Sikhoraphum and Samrong Thap the province of Surin .

history

Prang Ku was set up on January 1, 1961, initially as a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) by being separated from the Amphoe Khukhan. The name of the district is derived from Prang Samong ( ปรางค์ สาม องค์ ), which is in Ban Ku. It was promoted to Amphoe on July 17, 1963.
