Amphoe Kanthararom ( Thai อำเภอ กันทรารมย์ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the northeast of the province of Si Sa Ket . The province of Si Sa Ket is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

geography

Amphoe Kanthararom borders the following districts (clockwise from the south): Amphoe Non Khun , Nam Kliang , Mueang Si Sa Ket and Yang Chum Noi in the province of Si Sa Ket, as well as Amphoe Khueang Nai , Mueang Ubon Ratchathani , Warin Chamrap and Samrong of Ubon Ratchathani Province .

history

The Kanthararom District was established in 1897 under the name Uthai Si Sa Ket ( อุทัย ศี ร์ ษะ เก ษ ). It was renamed Kanthararom in 1913. In 1926 the administration building in Ban Khambon ( บ้าน คำ บอน ) was opened in Tambon Dun.
