Amphoe Huai Thap Than (in Thai อำเภอ ห้วยทับทัน ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the west of the province of Si Sa Ket . The province of Si Sa Ket is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

Huai Thap Than District borders the following districts (from north clockwise) to the Amphoe Mueang Chan , Uthumphon Phisai and Prang Ku in the province of Si Sa Ket, as well as Amphoe Samrong Thap the province of Surin .

history

Huai Thap Than was initially set up as a “branch circle” ( King Amphoe ) on January 17, 1977 , by separating the four tambon Huai Thap Than, Mueang Luang, Phak Mai and Kluai Kwang from the Amphoe Uthumphon Phisai . The administration began work on a temporary building inside the Buddhist temple ( Wat ) Wat Phra Charangsan ( วัด ประชา รังสรรค์ ) on February 16 . The administration was only able to move into a permanent building in 1981. On March 20, 1986, Huai Thap Than was promoted to Amphoe.

Huai Thap Than County is divided into six tambon ("subdistricts" or "parishes"), which are further subdivided into 81 muban ("villages").

Local administration

There are two municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Chan Saen Chai (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล จาน แสน ไชย ), consisting of the whole tambon Chan Saen Chai.
  • Huai Thap Than (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ห้วยทับทัน ), consisting of parts of the tambon Huai Thap Than.

There are also five " Tambon Administrative Organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO):

  • Mueang Luang (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล เมืองหลวง )
