Amphoe Wang Hin (in Thai อำเภอ วัง หิน ) is a district ( amphoe - administrative district) in the province of Si Sa Ket . The province of Si Sa Ket is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

geography

Amphoe Wang Hin borders the following districts (clockwise from the north): Amphoe Mueang Si Sa Ket , Phayu , Phrai Bueng , Khukhan , Prang Ku and Uthumphon Phisai . All Amphoe are in Si Sa Ket Province.

history

Wang Hin was initially set up on March 9, 1987 as a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) by separating the five tambon Bu Sung, That, Duan Yai, Bo Kaeo and Si Samran from the Mueang Si Sa Ket district . It was promoted to Amphoe on October 20, 1993.

traffic

The largest expressway in the district is National Road 220, which connects the district capital with the center of the province, Si Sa Ket .

Attractions

  • Prang Kua - the ruins of a Khmer temple, the symbol of the province, is located on national road 220.

Wang Hin County is divided into eight tambon ("subdistricts" or "parishes"), which are further subdivided into 126 muban ("villages").

There are two municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Wang Hin (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล วัง หิน ), consisting of the entire tambon Wang Hin.
  • Bu Sung (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บุ สูง ), consisting of the entire tambon Bu Sung.
