Amphoe Sikhoraphum ( Thai : อำเภอ ศีขรภูมิ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) of the Province of Surin . The province of Surin is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

geography

Amphoe Sikhoraphum borders the following districts (clockwise from north): Amphoe Sanom and Samrong Thap in Surin Province, Amphoe Prang Ku in Si Sa Ket Province, and Amphoe Si Narong , Lamduan , Mueang Surin , Khwao Sinarin and Chom Phra in turn in the province of Surin.

economy

Thai silk is produced in Sikhoraphum County . This traditional design silk is a five star OTOP product.

Attractions

  • Prasat Sikhoraphum (also: "Prasat Ra Ngaeng") - temple ruins in the style of Angkor Wat from the early 12th century. Five brick - Prangs stand on a common base from laterite , the central Prang is about 32 meters high. It stands in the center of a square with the four smaller prangs at the corners. The finely executed sandstone reliefs on the lintels are well worth seeing, showing, for example, a ten-armed, dancing Shiva .
  • Prasat Ban Chang Pi - a single laterite prang in the Tambon Chang Pi.
