Somdet District ( Thai : อำเภอ สมเด็จ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) of the province of Kalasin . The province of Kalasin is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

geography

The neighboring districts start clockwise from the southeast: the Amphoe Huai Phueng , Na Mon , Mueang Kalasin , Sahatsakhan and Kham Muang in the province of Kalasin and Amphoe Phu Phan in the province of Sakon Nakhon .

history

Somdet was initially set up on August 16, 1964 as a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) by separating the three tambon Somdet, Mu Mon and Saeng Badan from the Sahatsakhan district . Somdet was promoted to Amphoe on February 25, 1969.

Somdet County is divided into eight tambon ("subdistricts" or "parishes"), which are further subdivided into 94 muban ("villages").

Local administration

There are five municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Saeng Badan (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล แซง บาดาล ) consists of the entire tambon Saeng Badan.
  • Maha Chai (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล มหาไชย ) consists of the entire Tambon Maha Chai.
  • Pha Sawoei (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ผา เสวย ) consists of the entire tambon Pha Sawoei.
  • Lam Huai Lua (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ลำห้วย หลัว ) consists of the entire tambon Lam Huai Lua.
  • Somdet (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล สมเด็จ ) consists of parts of the Tambon Somdet.

There are also four " Tambon Administrative Organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO):

  • Somdet (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล สมเด็จ )
  • Nong Waeng (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล หนอง แวง )
  • Mu Mon (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล หมู ม่น )
  • Si Somdet (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ศรี สมเด็จ )
