Amphoe Somdet ( Thai : อำเภอ ร่องคำ ) is a district ( amphoe - administrative district) in the south of the province of Kalasin . The province of Kalasin is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

geography

The neighboring districts start clockwise from the west: Amphoe Kamalasai in the province of Kalasin and the Amphoe Pho Chai and Chiang Khwan in the province of Roi Et .

history

Rong Kham was initially set up on February 1, 1973 as a “branch circle” ( King Amphoe ) by separating the two Tambon Rong Kham and Samakkhi from the Kamalasai district . On October 10, 1993, Rong Kham was promoted to Amphoe.

There is one municipality with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Rong Kham (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ร่องคำ ) consists of parts of the Tambon Rong Kham.

There are also two " Tambon Administrative Organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO):

  • Samakkhi (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล สามัคคี )
  • Lao Oi (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล เหล่า อ้อย )
