Amphoe Don Chan ( Thai : อำเภอ ดอน จาน ) is a district ( amphoe - administrative district) of Kalasin Province . The province of Kalasin is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

geography

The neighboring districts start clockwise from the south: the Amphoe Kamalasai , Mueang Kalasin , Na Mon and Kuchinarai in the province of Kalasin, and Amphoe Pho Chai in the province of Roi Et .

history

Don Chan was established on July 15, 1996 initially as a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) by being separated from the Mueang Kalasin district .

On May 15, 2007 the Thai government decided to raise all 81 King Amphoe to simple amphoe status in order to unify the administration. With the publication in the Royal Gazette "Issue 124 chapter 46" on August 24, 2007 this decision officially entered into force.

Don Chan County is divided into five tambon ("subdistricts" or "parishes"), which are further subdivided into 48 muban ("villages").

Local administration

There are two municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Don Chan (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ดอน จาน ) consists of the entire tambon Don Chan.
  • Muang Na (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ม่วง นา ) consists of the entire Tambon Muang Na.

There are also three " Tambon Administrative Organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO):

  • Sa-at Chai Si (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล สะอาด ไชย ศรี )
  • Dong Phayung (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ดง พยุง )
  • Na Champa (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล นา จำปา )
