The Salmünster District Court (until 1867 Salmünster Justice Office ) was a court of ordinary jurisdiction that existed as a branch from 1822 to 1968 and was based in what is now Bad Soden-Salmünster .

history

In the course of the separation of justice and administration in the Electorate of Hesse with effect from January 1, 1822, the previous office of Salmünster , which until then was both an administrative authority and a court of first instance, was assigned to the district of Herolz , Sannerz and Weiperz Justice Office Steinau , formed the Salmünster Justice Office , which is exclusively responsible for the judiciary. The district of the justice office consequently consisted of the towns of Salmünster and Soden and the towns of Ahl , Eckardroth , Kerbersdorf , Klesberg , Marborn , Neustall , Rabenstein , Rebsdorf , Romsthal , Sarrod , Uerzell , Ulmbach and Wahlert .

On January 1, 1850, the patrimonial jurisdiction of the Barons von Hutten in Romsthal, Eckardroth, Kerbersdorf, part of Marborn and Wahlert was lifted, but all of Marborn went to the Steinau Justice Office.

As a result of the annexation of Kurhesse by Prussia in the German War in 1866, the court system there was fundamentally reorganized. The previous judicial offices, higher courts and the higher court of appeal in Cassel have been repealed and replaced by local courts in the first, district courts in the second and an appeal court in the third instance. On September 1, 1867, the previous judicial office became the Salmünster District Court.

At the beginning this district court still belonged to the district of the district court Hanau , so on the occasion of the entry into force of the Courts Constitution Act on October 1, 1879 there was a change to the district of the district court Hanau , the district of the district court Salmünster itself did not change. On October 1, 1892, the community of Alsberg was separated from the Orb District Court and added to the Salmünster District Court.

On July 1, 1968, the Salmünster District Court was repealed and the Alsberg community was added to the Gelnhausen District Court . The remaining municipalities of the old district court district now formed the district of the Salmünster branch (since 1974 Bad Soden-Salmünster) of the Schlüchtern district court , which was responsible for land registry matters, estate matters, matters of the guardianship court and advisory assistance. On May 31, 2004, this branch was finally closed.
