The district court of Schwedt / Oder is a court of ordinary jurisdiction and one of six district courts (AG) in the district of the district court of Neuruppin .

Seat and District of the Court

The court is based in the city of Schwedt / Oder in the Uckermark district in northeast Brandenburg .

The 962 km² judicial district includes the cities and communities of Angermünde , Berkholz-Meyenburg , Casekow , Gartz (Oder) , Hohenselchow-Groß Pinnow , Mark Landin , Mescherin , Passow , Pinnow , Schöneberg , Schwedt / Oder and Tantow . Around 56,000 people live in it.

For bankruptcy , foreclosure and receivership matters is Amtsgericht Neuruppin responsible, which is also the commercial , cooperative and association register leads. Dunning procedures are processed by the Wedding District Court as the central dunning court .

The court is housed in the building at Paul-Meyer-Straße 8, which was built at the end of the 19th century . The two-story, neo-Gothic brick building with a gable and hipped roof is a listed building .

The district court of Neuruppin is superordinate to the district court of Schwedt / Oder . The competent higher regional court is the Brandenburg Higher Regional Court in Brandenburg an der Havel .
