Ana Srebrnič (born February 20, 1984 in Ljubljana ) is a Slovenian chess player , referee and organizer.

Ana Srebrnič is married to the Serbian chess grandmaster Robert Markuš .

successes

She took top places several times at Slovenian individual championships for girls and women, including winning eight girls' titles in different age groups between 1996 and 2002 and becoming the Slovenian women's champion in Ljubljana in 2008 and 2012.

In 2003 she won the 1st MCA U20 girls' tournament in El-Agelat, Libya, with 9 out of 9.

In 1999 she received the title of FIDE Women 's Master (WFM), in July 2004 the title of International Women's Master (WIM) and in April 2006 the title of Women's Grand Master (WGM). She fulfilled the WIM norms in March 2003 at a WIM tournament in Rijeka , in July 2003 at the Chess Festival in Bled and in February 2004 at the HIT Open in Nova Gorica . The last WIM standard was also a WGM standard, and Srebrnič met another WGM standard at the European women's individual championship in 2005 in Chișinău .

She is also a chess referee. In June 2011 she had received the title of FIDE Arbiter and in April 2015 the title of International Arbiter . She has been a FIDE trainer since 2014 and FIDE International Organizer since April 2018 .

One of her strengths is blitz chess , as Lady Malshun , the best woman on the ChessBase server, has an Elo rating of over 3000.

In October 2015 she was in normal chess on the Slovenian women's rankings behind Jana Krivec and Laura Unuk in third place.

National team

With the Slovenian women's national team, Srebrnič took part in the chess Olympiads in 2002 , 2004 , 2006 , 2008 , 2012 and 2014 with an overall result of 30.5 points from 61 games (+21 = 19 −21).

In addition, she took part in all eight women's European team championships from 2001 to 2015 with an individual overall result of 28.5 points from 57 games (+20 = 17 −20). In her first of three participation in the Mitropa Cup for women, she won it in Rogaška Slatina in 2009 , where she also received an individual gold medal for her result of 5 out of 7 on the second board.

In Slovenia she played at ŠK Nova Gorica . As a 15-year-old, she received an individual gold medal for her score of 4.5 out of 7 on the first reserve board at the 1999 Women's European Club Cup in Nova Gorica , playing for the ŠK. She was also successful at the following Club Cup in Halle (Saale) with a bronze medal for her result of 5 out of 7 on the fourth board. Srebrnič took part in the women's European Club Cup seven times, from 1998 to 2001 with the ŠK Nova Gorica , in 2011 with the ŽŠK Maribor and in 2015 and 2016 with the Midlands Monarchs . In the Croatian first women's league she plays for the Šk Šahovska Škola Delnice , in the British Four Nations Chess League since 2017 for the first and second team of the Wood Green Hilsmark Kingfisher , who have been playing under the name Wood Green since the 2018/19 season.
