Anastassija Alexandrowna Kapachinskaya ( Russian Анастасия Александровна Капачинская , English transcription Anastasiya Aleksandrovna Kapachinskaya ; born November 21, 1979 in Moscow ) is a former Russian sprinter .

Career

At the 2001 World Championships in Edmonton, she was eliminated in the 400-meter run in the semifinals and won bronze with the Russian 4-by-400-meter relay . At the European Championships in Munich in 2002 , she was fifth over 400 meters and won silver with the 4 x 400 meter relay.

In the following year, she finished second in the relay and in the 200-meter run at the World Championships in Paris / Saint-Denis . Because of the disqualification of the American doping sinner Kelli White , Kapachinskaya was subsequently declared world champion in the 200-meter run. At the World Indoor Championships in 2003 , she won silver over 200 meters.

At the World Indoor Championships in 2004 she was positive for stanozolol and subsequently disqualified for doping and banned for two years. Kapachinskaya was also doped at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing . This was proven in post-tests for the games in 2016. As a repeat offender, she was subsequently disqualified on August 19, 2016 and had to surrender her Olympic silver medal . She was banned from the Russian Federation for four years. In 2018, the 2010 European championship title of the Russian 4 x 400 meter relay was revoked.
