Anders Olsson (ice hockey coach)

Anders Olsson (born May 16, 1975 in Gothenburg ) is a former Swedish ice hockey goalkeeper and today's coach who is currently on the gang as an assistant coach of the EHC Biel in the National League .

Career

At the age of 21, Olsson suffered a serious car accident that left him cuffed to a hospital bed for six months. As a result, Olsson had to end his career as a goalkeeper and became an unusually young ice hockey coach.

After completing his coaching diplomas, he worked as an assistant or head coach for various Swedish teams between 1998 and 2003. In 2003 he moved to the Adler Mannheim , for whom he was on the gang as a junior and assistant coach of the first team. In 2006 he returned to Sweden to HV71 , where he built one of the best training centers in Europe.

In 2015 he moved to HC Davos in Switzerland as a trainer for the elite juniors . After two seasons, he took up the position as assistant coach at EHC Biel . He is the first ever Swede to assist a National League club.
