Michael Hügli (born November 30, 1995 in Seedorf UR ) is a Swiss ice hockey player . He has been under contract with EHC Biel in the National League since 2018 .
career
Hügli grew up in Berikon am Mutschellen . He comes from the youth movement of the EHC Wettingen-Baden and switched to Zürcher SC in the course of his youth . In 2010 he went to EV Zug , was a top performer in the juniors and made his debut in the National League A for Central Switzerland during the 2013/14 season . His first game in the NLA was on October 8, 2013 against HC Ambrì-Piotta . In the game 2014/15 Hügli came partly with a B license for SC Langenthal in the National League B used.
In the 2015/16 season he moved to SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers in the NLB. Here the striker got a regular place. Hügli played a key role in the rise of the Lakers in the 2017/18 season. In the seventh game of the league qualification, he gave the decisive pass to the 3-1 of the Lakers in extra time. He had already announced his move to EHC Biel in January 2018 .
National team
Hügli played for Switzerland in the age groups U16, U17, U18, U19 and U20. In December 2014 / January 2015 he took part in the World Cup in Canada with the U20 national team.
