Peter Schneider (born April 4, 1991 in Klosterneuburg ) is an Austrian ice hockey player who has been under contract with EHC Biel in the National League since May 2019 .
Career
Schneider began his career in the youth of HC České Budějovice and played there until 2009. He then moved to HC Znojemsti Orli . After a successful season, Schneider started with the youth of the Slovak KHL club HC Slovan Bratislava . After nine games, however, it was over for Schneider and it went back to HC Orli Znojmo . After 30 points in 29 games, Schneider received an offer from the United States Hockey League from the Indiana Ice and moved to North America for the first time in his career.
In the 2010/11 season Schneider scored 30 goals and 23 assists in 55 games, after which the hockey department of the University of Notre Dame became aware of him and equipped him with a 4-year contract. In the four seasons in the National Collegiate Athletic Association , he scored 47 points in 138 games. In the 2012/13 season he was champion of the NCAA.
When Schneider was out of his junior age, he switched to the Indy Fuel in the ECHL . After good performance, he moved to the Florida Everblades in the league . After ten games, however, he changed clubs again and came to the Kalamazoo Wings , where he played his ECHL season with the highest points - Schneider scored 20 goals and 30 assists in 51 games.
In November 2017 Schneider moved back to Europe, to the Vienna Capitals in the EBEL . In the 2018/19 season he scored 69 points during the regular season and thus had a significant share in the playoff finals of his team, which was lost to the EC KAC .
For the 2019/20 season he signed a one-year contract with EHC Biel from the Swiss National League .
