André (Antranik) Manoukian (born April 9, 1957 in Lyon ) is a French jazz pianist , composer , arranger and music producer of Armenian descent: Antranik is the Armenian form of André. He has been married to Stéphanie since 1993.

Live and act

At the age of seven years Manoukian began self-taught to play the piano, earned later his living by selling organs. He then studied at the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston . Returning to France, he founded the jazz band "Horn Stuff" and composed. Two jazz-funk albums were recorded. For Liane Foly , whom he discovered in 1983 and with whom he was together until 1992, he wrote the successes Au fur et à mesure and Doucement .

He created further compositions for Michel Petrucciani , Richard Galliano , Charles Aznavour , Gilbert Bécaud , Diane Dufresne , Nicole Croisille , Natacha Atlas , Janet Jackson , Myriam Abel , Camille Bazbaz and since 2001 for Malia . From 2002 he became known to the general public as a juror for the first five seasons of Nouvelle Star , the French version of Deutschland sucht den Superstar . In 2011 he took part in the first season of the dance show Danse avec les stars .
