Career

André Milhoux competed in sports and touring car races in Belgium in the early 1950s and only drove one monoposto race in his career .

In 1956 , Milhoux took part in the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Germany instead of André Pilette , who was injured in free practice , and qualified in 21st place, well behind his teammate Robert Manzon . However , he was unable to finish the race due to an engine failure on his Gordini Type 32 . Milhoux did not make any further Formula 1 appearances.

As a sports car driver, Milhoux was able to celebrate some successes. In 1953, as a partner of Paul Frère on a Chrysler, it won the unlimited class of touring cars at the Mille Miglia . In 1955, as a team-mate of André Pilette, he was fourth in the 1000 km race in Paris in Montlhéry .

After an accident during training for the 1958 Belgian Grand Prix in Spa-Francorchamps , which he survived unscathed in a Ferrari 801 of the Equipe Nationale Belge , Milhoux retired from active motorsport.

Today Milhoux lives in Ixelles near Brussels.
