André Szymanski

André Szymanski (* 1974 in Karl-Marx-Stadt ) is a German film and theater actor .

Life

Szymanski was born in 1974 in Karl-Marx-Stadt, today Chemnitz . He studied at the Berlin Academy of Dramatic Art "Ernst Busch" .

After completing his training, he performed at the barracks of the Deutsches Theater Berlin , where he could be seen in Thomas Ostermeier's productions “Shoppen und Ficken” or “Mann ist Mann”. In 1999 he moved to the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz , where he appeared in the plays "Dantons Tod" and "Woyzeck", among others. In the 2009/2010 season, Szymanski moved to the Hamburg Thalia Theater , where he has been a permanent member of the ensemble ever since. In 2011 he was awarded the Ulrich Wildgruber Prize for his achievements as a young theater actor .

From 2003, she also made her first appearances in film and television productions. In 2014 he took on the role of journalist Thomas Gnielka in the film Im Labyrinth des Schweigens , which deals with the prehistory of the Frankfurt Auschwitz trials .
