Andrea Bakula (born August 15, 1981 in Zagreb ) is a Croatian table tennis player . She took part in eleven world championships , at least six European championships and two Olympic Games .

Career

Andrea Bakula achieved her first international successes at the European Youth Championships. In 1996 she was second in singles and first in doubles with Bojana Poljak and in mixed. Also in 1999 she reached the final in singles and mixed, in doubles with Wang Yu and with the team she won gold. From 1997 to 2010 she took part in eleven world championships , but never came close to medal ranks.

She was more successful at European championships . Here she reached the quarter-finals in the individual in 2003 , with the Croatian team she came second. Also in 2005 she won silver with the team. In 2003 she failed in the double competition in the quarterfinals.

In 2000 Andrea Bakula qualified for the first time to take part in the Olympic Games , namely for the individual competition. Here she won against the Australian Stella Zhou , but then retired after losing to Gao Jun (USA). In 2008 she competed in individual and team competitions. In the singles she defeated Yadira Silva (Mexico) and lost to Huang I-Hua (Taiwan). With the team she came in ninth.

In 2001 Andrea Bakula moved from the Croatian club Mladost Zagreb to the German Bundesliga for FSV Kroppach . In 2003 she joined the TTC Langweid , with which she became German champion in 2004 and the European Cup in 2005. In 2005 she returned to Croatia and joined the HASTK Mladost Zagreb club in the European Super League . In 2009 she was hired by TuS Bad Driburg . In 2010 she moved to ttc berlin eastside and in 2011 contributed to second place in the Bundesliga and in the ETTU Cup . From 2013 she played for TSV Schwabhausen , from which she parted in 2015 in strife.
