Andreas Kutschke (born November 7, 1973 in Wurzen , GDR ) is a German Roman Catholic clergyman and vicar general of the Dresden-Meißen diocese .

Life

Kutschke spent his childhood in Thammenhain in north-western Saxony. He graduated from the Polytechnic High School up to the 10th grade; he was not allowed to attend the extended high school (grammar school) because of his Catholic faith. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, he entered the late- career seminar in the Bavarian monastery Fockenfeld near Tirschenreuth and graduated from high school here. He then did his basic military service in the Bundeswehr .

In 1995 he entered the seminary and studied philosophy and theology at the Philosophical-Theological Study in Erfurt (now the Catholic-Theological Faculty of Erfurt ) and at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome (1997/98). In 1997 he became a member of the KAV Capitolina Rome in the CV . He completed his diaconate in Chemnitz .

Of 18 May 2002 Kutschke received in Dresden , the ordination . He was initially chaplain and dean's youth pastor in Zittau and in the cathedral parish of St. Petri Bautzen , where he also looked after the bilingual Sorbs . Since 2010 he has been a pastor in Stollberg in the Ore Mountains and a member of the priestly council.

Kutschke was appointed Vicar General of the Diocese of Dresden-Meißen on November 12, 2013 by Bishop Heiner Koch as successor to Michael Bautz , which he took up on January 6, 2014. In addition, Koch appointed him to the cathedral chapter .

With the appointment of Koch as Archbishop of Berlin , his office as Vicar General expired on June 8, 2015. Koch appointed Kutschke as his permanent representative for the duration of his office as Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Dresden-Meißen. This function ended with Koch's inauguration in Berlin on September 19, 2015. One day later, the cathedral chapter elected him diocesan administrator of the Dresden-Meißen diocese. This task ended with the inauguration of the new Bishop Heinrich Timmerevers on August 27 of the following year. Timmerevers reappointed Kutschke as vicar general on the same day. The cathedral chapter of St. Petri in Dresden elected Andreas Kutschke as dean of the cathedral on January 12, 2018. The introduction took place on Sunday, March 4, 2018.
