Andreas M. Rauch

Andreas Martin Rauch (born May 5, 1961 in Munich ), Dr. phil., honorary professor, is a German political scientist and theologian. Rauch is a grandson of the politician Alfred Rauch and the banker Hermann Herold and a great-nephew of the politician Friedrich Degeler .

Life

Rauch moved with his family in 1967 from Starnberg near Munich to Bonn, where his father worked in the Federal Ministry of Defense . After graduating from high school in 1981 at the Städtisches Gymnasium Bonn-Röttgen , he received a Studium generale scholarship at the Leibniz College in Tübingen in 1981/82 , and from 1982 to 1988 he studied political science , history and the diploma course in Catholic theology at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms- University of Bonn. In 1988 he was appointed to the chairs of Karl Dietrich Bracher and Franz Böckle at the Philosophical Faculty with a dissertation on the Catholic Church and European Unification. Foundations, developments and problems of the Catholic contribution to a united Europe 1946–1986 for Dr. phil. doctorate and passed the church exams for the permanent diaconate.

From 1989 to 1991 he was a scholarship holder in Brussels (Belgium) and Pretoria (South Africa); he had a work contract for European security policy with the Federal Ministry of Defense. In 1991 he was a project evaluator for the United Nations in Afghanistan . From 1991 to 1993 he was a project member and head of the Ludwig Erhard Archive of the Ludwig Erhard Foundation in Bonn. From 1993 to 1999 he was an election and democracy observer for the Federal Foreign Office in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Brazil, Haiti, Kosovo, South Africa, Togo and Zimbabwe, most recently as a German diplomat at the OSCE . From 1994 to 1999 he was an adjunct professor at the Christian University of Potchefstroom in South Africa.

In 1994/95 he was a keynote speaker and speechwriter for Carl-Dieter Spranger (CSU) in the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development . Then he accepted various publishing and work contracts. In 1998 he was press officer at the Reconstruction Loan Corporation and in 1999 he became a research assistant for Christa Reichard, member of the Bundestag, in Dresden. In 2000/01 he was a research assistant at the German Association for the United Nations . In 2002 he was a consultant for the Society for the Promotion of North-South Dialogue of the German Commission “Iustitia et Pax” at the German Bishops' Conference . In 2003/04 he was a research assistant at the Social Science Institute of the Bundeswehr in Strausberg. Journalistic fee contracts with the Bundeswehr followed . In 2015/16 he was a teacher for special tasks at the Institute for Political Science in Nuremberg .

He held political science lectureships from 2003-2019 at the universities in Bonn , Cologne , Duisburg-Essen and Erlangen . From 2014 to 2019 he was a member of the NRW state examination committee for the 1st state examination in schools in the subject "Social Sciences" and from 2015-2017 a member of the examination office for schools in the subject "Social Studies" at the Bavarian State Ministry for Education and Culture. Since October 2019 he has been a lecturer at the seminar for Christian social teaching and pastoral sociology at the Catholic-Theological Faculty of the University of Bonn. Since August 2006 he has been teaching politics, social science and religion in North Rhine-Westphalia and since August 2010 in school pastoral work in the Archdiocese of Cologne.

He is a member and a. the Görres Society and the German Association of the Holy Land .

Andreas M. Rauch is the author of the magazine European Security & Technology , the magazine for inner guidance, the magazine The New Order and the magazine Welt-Sichten .
