Andreas Püttmann (born April 16, 1964 in Dinslaken ) is a German political scientist , journalist and publicist .

Life

Andreas Püttmann studied political science , history and constitutional law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and at the Institut d'études politiques de Paris from 1983 to 1990 . He was a scholarship holder of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). In 1993 he received his dissertation on Civil Disobedience and Christian Citizen Loyalty. Confession and state sentiments in the democracy of the Basic Law under Wolfgang Bergsdorf doctorate. After working as a freelancer for WDR radio (1987-89), he was an editor at Rheinischer Merkur from 1989 to 1991 . Since 1993 he has been a research associate at the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. There he initially worked as a consultant in the promotion of young journalists, since 1995 as head of the department for the south-west German universities in the German student promotion as well as in the working group on church and politics and (since 1998) in the works council of the foundation. Since 2002 his health has been impaired after a borreliosis and only works to a limited extent as a freelance publicist. Püttmann lives in Bonn .

His main topics are political and ethical questions of principle, Christian social doctrine and discussion of values, sociology of religion and church politics , opinion polls and media effects.

His book “Society without God. Risks and side effects of the de-Christianization of Germany ”(2010) received a lot of attention in both secular and church media.

After his own illness from Lyme borreliosis, he also published on the psychosocial and medical problems associated with this disease.
