Andrei Murariu

Andrei Murariu (born February 17, 1986 in Bârlad ) is a Romanian chess grandmaster .

Murariu acquired the grandmaster title in July 2006. He fulfilled the required standards at three tournaments in Bucharest , namely the Victor Ciocâltea Memorials in March 2003 and October 2004 and the Winter Cup in January 2006. He won two medals with the Romanian junior team at the European Championships in 2003 and 2004 and was also a member of the national team at the European Team Championships in 2007. In the same year he won the Romgaz Open and has already won the Victor Ciocâltea Memorial twice.

His chess club in Romania is the CS Studențesc Medicină Timișoara .

Murariu was trained by Dorian Rogozenco . Murarius Elo number is 2501 (as of October 2014), his highest Elo number of 2533 he reached in February and August 2013.
